The verdict, in sixty words
The Maglite ML150LR publishes 1,082 lumens for over three hours, up to 79 hours in eco mode, a 458-meter beam, a rechargeable pack that reaches 80 percent in about thirty minutes, and a ten-year limited warranty. Its lumens-per-dollar figure is poor. If you intend to own one light for a decade, that figure is measuring the wrong thing.
Take the runtime line seriously, because it is unusual. Over three hours at full output is a figure most brands would not print, and Maglite prints it beside the 1,082 rather than beside a lower mode. The 79-hour eco figure is what makes it viable as an outage light as well as a work light.
Where the money goes
Not into lumens. A Sofirn SC31 Pro publishes nearly twice the output for a small fraction of the price. What the Maglite premium buys is a set of things a ratio cannot see: a replaceable pack sold as a stocked part, a charging cradle for a vehicle or a wall, a ten-year limited warranty, spare parts for a light that has been in production long enough for them to exist, and a body engineered around getting heat out of the emitter.
The related model in the same family, the ML150LRS, uses LiFePO4 chemistry that Maglite rates at up to 2,000 charge and discharge cycles. Very few manufacturers publish a cycle rating at all. Read that number against a sealed-cell light with no published cycle count and the difference in expected service life is not marginal.

Cost per year, worked properly
Here is the arithmetic that reframes the ratio. A sealed-cell light that gives you three good years costs its purchase price every three years, forever. A light with a replaceable pack and a decade-long body life costs its purchase price once, plus a pack every few years. Over ten years the cheap light is bought three or four times; the expensive one is bought once.
